Un pied en orient, et un pied en occident, le violoniste Baiju Bhatt réalise avec son deuxième album «Eastern Sonata» (estampillé HIT Couleurs Jazz) un métissage audacieux entre jazz-rock et musique indienne, entre tradition et modernité. Entouré par le quintet transalpin «Red Sun», un groupe alchimique où les différentes sonorités de chacun se fondent dans une parfaite harmonie, il efface les frontières et mixe les cultures dans un grand feu d’artifice multicolore, virtuose et harmonieux. Virtuoso, energetic, enthusiastic: the compositions of the Indian-Swiss violinist Baiju Bhatt are drenched in rhythmical finesse and melodious runs that go straight to the ears. Supported by his band, « Red Sun », the performer from the Romandie skillfully interweaves influences from jazz, world and rock and thus creates his very own sound somewhere between the orient and the occident. The band’s new album, « Eastern Sonata », is released on the Berlin label QFTF, and features some of the most prominent artists in the contemporary Jazz/World fusion scene (such as Nguyên Lê, Prabhu Edouard, Amine Mraihi, Krishna M. Bhatt among others).
